i sent my submission off today 8) yeyey!
this is my gorilla character sheet thingie.
iam proud of how it turned out. it was my first attemtp too!
i never knew i would enjoy drawing for the damn kiddies so much.
sounds like ama have to think through what i wanna do for next year.

ReplyDeletehey milan i did it via photoshop. i used the ruler and the snap to guides. WHAT!they accept emails!! no fooking way! i propa styles rushed to the post office with aching calves just to get it through the post on time lawl oh wells at least its over. yah. i used ruler and snap to guides. it also says on the waterstones thing that we have to signify the edge of the trim with marks. and not to put details 5mm near the bleed and 5mm away fromn the trim 8)

ReplyDeletei got a bit stuck with measurements tho. mine was just smaller then A3 and looked a bit small for a kiddies book O3O i put the correct measurements into PS. but,...it looked a bit small. is it supposed to look small?
ReplyDeleteBALLBAGS. its the cheltenham one that accepts emails not waterstones. fuck. thats really fucked things up im gonna have to work my ass off and try and send it tomorrow before the 5 oclock collection :S im an idiot sorry i told you the wrong thing. yeah im pretty sure we have to do the fairy, fairy queen, freddie and at least two animals. to be fair if theres a slight difference in size i dont think theyll go mental at you. i think its more important to have the bleed and that. plus your work is awesome so i dont think theyll think less of you if the size is slightly off. im just going to bodge the trim together somehow.

phew millan am so glad you mentioned it to me then otherwise you wudnt had known! hurry send it!! ur still is well quality so ama be a bit sad if u dont get a chance to enter! same same niome.8) i rushed the fairy queen on the day i sent the submission, i met a guy in the print room who also admited that it looked too small for a kiddies book, so i aint worrying too much

ReplyDeleteyeah its gonna be pretty hard though, i got tonight and a bit of tomorrow to do like three characters from scratch and colour a whole page. lol its so annonying cuz we've lost out on two extra days work cuz they dont take email. i know the cheltenham illustration awards people do so thats helpful i guess when that comes around.
